Textiles &Apparel Export in Xinjiang up 23.3% y-o-y in Jan-Sep, 2017

Exports of textiles and apparel in Xinjiang grew by 23.3% y-o-y in the first three quarters of 2017, mainly under border petty trade, and Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia remained major export destinations.

On Oct 30, statistics from Urumchi customs showed that exports of textile and apparel amounted to 46.44 billion Yuan in Jan-Sep, 2017. Exports of apparels and clothing accessories totaled 34.76 billion yuan, up 27.1% compared with the same period of last year, and exports of yarn, fabric and made-ups, up 13.5% on the year.

South Xinjiang was major export port for textile and apparel in Xinjiang, and exports of textile and apparels from four ports in South Xinjiang including Irkeshtam, Turgart, Khunjerab and Karasu and Kashgar increased by 21.4% y-o-y to 27.41 billion Yuan, sharing around 59% of total textiles and apparel export value in Xinjiang.
