Infertility refers to a disease in which a woman of childbearing age has been living with her husband for more than two years after marriage or the last pregnancy, and the man has normal reproductive function and has not conceived without contraception. Those who have never conceived in the past two years after marriage are called primary infertility; those who have had a childbirth or miscarriage and have been infertile for more than two consecutive years are called secondary infertility. Absolute infertility refers to a clinical sign of infertility caused by severe congenital or acquired anatomical abnormalities or physiological defects in either spouse, which cannot be successfully corrected no matter what method is used for treatment, such as congenital absence of the uterus. Relative infertility refers to a certain cause of difficulty in conceiving that reduces fertility, causing the patient to be unable to conceive temporarily, but can still conceive through treatment, such as uterine hypoplasia. The incidence of infertility accounts for about 8% to 17% of women of childbearing age, with an average of about 10%. The increasing trend of the incidence of infertility may be related to late marriage and childbearing, artificial abortion, sexually transmitted diseases, etc. Common infertility includes ovarian infertility, vulvovaginal infertility, cervical infertility, uterine infertility, fallopian tube infertility, chromosomal abnormality infertility, and immune infertility.
