Acute laryngotracheobronchitis in children
Acute laryngotracheobronchitis refers to acute diffuse inflammation of the larynx, trachea, and bronchi caused by viral or bacterial infection. It is characterized by edema of the larynx and subvocal cords, thick crusting of tracheobronchial exudates, and symptoms of poisoning. It is more common in infants under 5 years old, with the highest incidence in children around 2 years old. The incidence rate in males is higher than that in females. The disease often occurs in cold seasons. Bacterial infection is often secondary to viral infection. The onset is acute and the condition is serious. If not treated in time, it will cause serious consequences.
