Ear fungus
Otomycosis, also known as fungal otitis externa, is an acute, subacute or chronic infection of the auricle and external auditory canal caused by fungi. It is a common disease, accounting for 15% to 20% of ear infections. It is caused by fungal infection. This type of infection is also called ear ringworm. The fungi that cause ear infection are mainly dermatophytes such as Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton azurite and Microsporum woolly. The clinical manifestations are ear ringworm and external auditory canal fungal disease. For ear ringworm, use compound resorcinol ointment or miconazole cream, etc. For external auditory canal fungal disease, it is advisable to first remove the scab and earwax. Then apply nystatin ointment externally.
