Megaloblastic anemia in children
Megaloblastic anaemia, also known as macrocytic anemia, is mainly caused by direct or indirect deficiency of folic acid and/or vitamin Bl2, mostly caused by direct deficiency due to insufficient intake. Its blood cell morphological characteristics are large red blood cells, excessive nuclear lobes of neutrophils, and hyperplasia of megaloblasts in the bone marrow.
