Subcutaneous fat granuloma (lipogranulomatosis subcutanca), also known as Rothamann-Makai syndrome, is a lipophageal granuloma in the subcutaneous tissue of the lower limbs and trunk of children and obese women. It progresses slowly and has a good prognosis. It is considered a subtype of Weber-Christian fat membrane inflammation, but without fever and systemic symptoms.
