Black ringworm
Tinea nigra, also known as tinea nigra palmaris or keratomycosis nigricans palmalis, is a superficial fungal disease that is transmitted by contact and is prone to occur on the palms and soles. The clinical features are non-scaly black spots. Biopsy shows light brown septate hyphae in the stratum corneum of the skin. The hyphae are short and thick, either curved or straight, and sometimes have spores at the end of the hyphae. This can be diagnosed. It can be treated with topical antifungal drugs.
