This product is a semi-synthetic 14-membered macrolide antibiotic. Its antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial effect are basically similar to those of erythromycin. It is slightly less effective than erythromycin against Gram-positive bacteria, but stronger than erythromycin against Legionella pneumophila. Its antimicrobial effect against Chlamydia pneumoniae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Ureaplasma urealyticum is similar to or slightly stronger than that of erythromycin. This product can penetrate the bacterial cell membrane and reversibly bind to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome near the donor (P site), blocking the transfer RNA (t-RNA) from binding to the P site, and also blocking the transfer of the polypeptide chain from the acceptor site (A site) to the P site, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.

(1) It is an antacid and anti-ulcer drug. (2) It is a new type of proton pump inhibitor. After oral absorption, it enters the gastric parietal cells from the blood and is converted into a sulfonamide derivative that can bind to H-K-ATPase in the strong acidic environment of the gastric parietal cells, inactivating the enzyme and inhibiting central and peripheral regulated gastric acid secretion. It can also reduce the secretion of pepsin, reduce its activity, and eliminate Helicobacter pylori in the gastric mucosa.
