It is a sulfonamide diuretic that works by inhibiting the reabsorption of water and electrolytes in the dilution segment of the distal renal tubular cortex. The mechanism of blood pressure reduction is unknown, but possible mechanisms include regulating calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle cells; stimulating the synthesis of prostaglandins PGE2 and prostaglandins PGI2; and reducing vascular hypersensitivity to vasopressors, thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction. This product has little or no effect on cardiac output, heart rate and rhythm when lowering blood pressure. Long-term use of this product rarely affects glomerular filtration rate or renal blood flow. This drug does not affect the metabolism of blood lipids and carbohydrates.

This product is a gastric mucosal protective agent. Under gastric acid conditions, it forms a diffuse protective layer covering the ulcer surface, preventing gastric acid, enzymes and food from invading the ulcer, and promoting the regeneration of the ulcer mucosa and the healing of the ulcer. This product also has the effects of reducing the activity of pepsin, increasing mucin secretion, and promoting the release of PGE2 from the mucosa, thereby protecting the gastric mucosa. In addition, this product has a killing effect on Helicobacter pylori (Hp), thus promoting the healing of gastritis.

Dopamine 2 (D2) receptor antagonist, has 5-hydroxytryptamine 4 (5-HT4) receptor agonist effect, and has a mild inhibitory effect on 5-HT3 receptor. It can increase the threshold of the medullary chemo-receptor zone (CTZ) and has a strong central antiemetic effect; it blocks hypothalamic dopamine receptors, inhibits prolactin inhibitory factor, promotes prolactin secretion, and has a certain lactation effect; its effect on the gastrointestinal tract is mainly in the upper digestive tract, promoting the movement of the stomach and upper intestinal segments, increasing the tension and contraction amplitude of the lower esophageal sphincter, and increasing the pressure at the lower end of the esophagus.

This product is an intermediate in the synthesis of Schisandrae Chinensis A, which can reduce liver damage and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) elevation caused by carbon tetrachloride, inhibit liver microsomal lipid peroxidation and metabolic conversion to carbon monoxide caused by carbon tetrachloride, reduce the consumption of reduced coenzyme II and oxygen, and protect the structure and function of liver cell biomembrane; it can reduce the increase of liver ALT induced by prednisone, promote liver regeneration in mice with partial hepatectomy; it has a significant induction effect on cytochrome P450 enzyme activity, and enhances the detoxification ability of carbon tetrachloride and certain carcinogens; it has an effect on improving protein metabolism in some hepatitis patients, increasing albumin and reducing globulin. It has no negative conversion effect on HbsAg and HbeAg, and cannot shrink enlarged liver and spleen.
