This product is a semi-synthetic 14-membered macrolide antibiotic. Its antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial effect are basically similar to those of erythromycin. It is slightly less effective than erythromycin against Gram-positive bacteria, but stronger than erythromycin against Legionella pneumophila. Its antimicrobial effect against Chlamydia pneumoniae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Ureaplasma urealyticum is similar to or slightly stronger than that of erythromycin. This product can penetrate the bacterial cell membrane and reversibly bind to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome near the donor (P site), blocking the transfer RNA (t-RNA) from binding to the P site, and also blocking the transfer of the polypeptide chain from the acceptor site (A site) to the P site, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.

Second-generation cephalosporin antibiotics, which are rapidly hydrolyzed into cefuroxime after entering the body. It has a strong antibacterial effect on most Gram-positive cocci, has a good effect on diphtheria Corynebacterium and Gram-positive anaerobes, has strong activity against Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae, and is sensitive to some Enterobacter aerogenes, indole-positive Proteus and Providencia. It is sensitive to Salmonella typhi, Shigella, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis, has a poor antibacterial effect on Bacteroides fragilis, and is resistant to Serratia, Alcaligenes, Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The mechanism of action is to bind to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial cell membrane, inhibit the synthesis of bacterial septum and cell wall, and ultimately lead to bacterial lysis and death.

It has a strong antipyretic effect on rabbits with fever caused by bacterial endotoxins; it can counteract the increased permeability of capillary walls caused by xylene or histamine; it has a significant sedative effect; it can promote the adrenal cortex function of rats and enhance the body's emergency response to pathogen infection; it has a certain inactivation effect on influenza virus type A1, type A3, pneumonia adenovirus (Adv) type III, type IV, enterosyncytial virus and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in vitro.
