Sugary pepsin

This product is white or light yellow powder; it tastes sweet, without mold or odor; it is hygroscopic; its aqueous solution reacts acidically.

The main ingredients of this product are: proteolytic enzymes extracted from the gastric mucosa of pigs, sheep or cattle. This product is made by diluting pepsin with lactose, glucose or sucrose. The protease activity contained in each 1g shall not be less than 120 units or 1200 units.

Digestive aid. Used for indigestion caused by pepsin deficiency or decreased digestive function after illness.

Oral administration: 0.2-0.4 g (1:1200 units), 3 times a day, before or during meals. It is often taken with 0.5-2.0 ml of 0.1 mol/L dilute hydrochloric acid. Or it can be prepared into a pepsin mixture containing 1%-2% dilute hydrochloric acid. Oral administration: 10-20 ml, 3 times a day, before or during meals.

It is contraindicated in patients with peptic ulcer.

1. This product has weak digestive power in neutral, alkaline and strong acidic conditions. It has the strongest digestive power when containing 0.2% to 0.4% hydrochloric acid (pH 1.5 to 2.5). 2. This product's aqueous solution will precipitate when it encounters tannic acid, gallic acid or most heavy metal solutions. 3. Avoid taking it with alkaline drugs and antacids. 4. This product is antagonistic to sucralfate and should not be used together.

Sealed, store in a dry place.
