Beraprost Sodium Tablets

Function and Efficacy

This product is a derivative of prostacyclin (PGI2). Among the various humoral factors synthesized by the blood vessel wall, prostacyclin (PGI2) is the first substance on the market that can regulate vascular tension and plays an important role in maintaining blood flow in various tissues. It is the final product of the arachidonic acid chain reaction and has a strong anti-platelet aggregation and vasodilation effect. It is mainly produced by the metabolism of arachidonic acid in the blood vessel wall. Not only vascular endothelial cells but also vascular smooth muscle cells can produce PGI2. It has a strong vasodilation effect. It is now known that the synthesis of PGI2 in blood vessels in arteriosclerosis sites is reduced. It has been reported that the FGI2 stabilizing factor apolipoprotein A-Ⅰ is reduced in patients with ischemic heart diseases and acute myocardial infarction and unstable angina associated with coronary artery spasm. PGI2 has an exoenol ether structure. Because of its extremely unstable chemical properties, it decomposes rapidly in neutral solutions and in the body, so it is limited to diseases that can be intravenously dripped. This product replaces the exoenol structure with phenol and chemically modifies the ω side chain to enhance its activity and stability. This product is an oral prostacyclin derivative with strong vasodilatory and antiplatelet aggregation effects.
