Dipifovir hydrochloride eye drops

Dipifoline is a prodrug of adrenaline. It has no biological activity. After entering the ocular tissue, it is rapidly hydrolyzed into adrenaline under the action of catalytic enzymes and exerts biological effects, causing mydriasis and lowering intraocular pressure. This product is highly lipid-soluble and can easily penetrate the corneal barrier into the eye after eye drops. Studies have shown that the intraocular permeability of dipifoline is 10 to 17 times stronger than that of adrenaline. The intraocular pressure-lowering effect of 0.1% dipifoline is equivalent to that of 1% adrenaline and slightly lower than that of 2% adrenaline, but the mydriasis effect is equivalent to that of 2% adrenaline. The intraocular pressure-lowering effect is the same as that of adrenaline, which works by reducing aqueous humor secretion and improving the aqueous humor flow coefficient. After one drop of 0.1% dipifoline solution is applied to the eye, intraocular pressure begins to be lowered 30 minutes later, and the maximum effect is achieved in 1 to 2 hours, which lasts for about 10 to 12 hours. It has an additive effect when used in combination with pilocarpine or ?-adrenaline receptor blockers.

The main ingredients of this product and their chemical names: The main ingredient is dipivefrin hydrochloride, the chemical name is 2,2-dimethylpropionic acid 4-[1-hydroxy-2(methylamino)ethyl]-1,2-phenylene hydrochloride, its molecular formula: C19H29NO5HCI, molecular weight: 387.90.

This product is a colorless clear liquid.

It is used to treat open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It is effective for residual glaucoma after iridectomy for angle-closure glaucoma. It is also effective for other types of secondary open-angle glaucoma and glaucomatous cyclitis syndrome.

Apply 1 to 2 drops at a time, 1 to 2 times a day, into the conjunctival sac. After application, press the inner corner of the lacrimal sac with your fingers for 3 to 5 minutes.

The concentration of dipivefrin is only 1/10 to 1/20 of that of adrenaline, so the incidence of adverse reactions is much lower than that of adrenaline. Eye drops of the solution have little effect on blood pressure and heart rate. However, it can cause mydriasis (contraindicated for angle-closure glaucoma without surgery) and aphakic maculopathy. There is a mild burning and stinging sensation after local eye drops. Other symptoms include follicular conjunctivitis, rebound congestion after conjunctival vasoconstriction, blurred vision, frontal pain, photophobia, and corneal and conjunctival pigmentation, which disappear after drug withdrawal. Systemic adverse reactions generally do not occur, but there are occasional occipital pain, arrhythmia, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, pale face, trembling, and sweating.

It is contraindicated for patients with angle-closure glaucoma who have not undergone surgery. It is contraindicated for patients with hyperthyroidism, hypertension, coronary artery insufficiency, arrhythmia, diabetes, etc. It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product.
