Erythromycin Cyclopentyl Suspension

Cyclic erythromycin belongs to the macrolide antibiotics. It acts on the 50S subunit of bacterial cell ribosomes and inhibits the synthesis of bacterial proteins. Cyclic erythromycin is a semi-synthetic derivative of erythromycin. The introduction of the cyclic carbon ester group greatly improves the lipophilicity of erythromycin, thereby increasing its absorption. Experiments have shown that this structural change reduces the serum protein binding rate, improves the antibacterial activity, and reduces the toxicity. Cyclic erythromycin has a broad antibacterial spectrum and is effective against the following bacteria: Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Pneumococcus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, etc. Gram-negative bacteria: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Bordetella pertussis, Shigella, etc. In addition to Bacteroides fragilis or Fusobacterium, it also has considerable antibacterial activity against various anaerobic bacteria. It also has certain therapeutic effects on other microorganisms: Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Spirochete, Legionella, Campylobacter, Ameba, etc.

The main ingredient of this product is erythromycin cyclohexetine.

This product is white or off-white powder with aromatic odor and sweet taste.

This product is mainly used for: 1. Pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Legionella pneumophila and Chlamydia pneumoniae. 2. Skin tissue infections such as furuncle, acne, impetigo, cellulitis, eczema and other skin and soft tissue infections when there is no effective local treatment or other antibiotics cannot be used (such as infections caused by non-penicillin-sensitive Staphylococci and penicillin-allergic patients). 3. Infections caused by mycoplasma, chlamydia, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae: such as non-gonococcal urethritis and gonorrhea. 4. Enteritis caused by Campylobacter. 5. Gastritis caused by Helicobacter. 6. Whooping cough in children.

Pour the product into a cup, add appropriate amount of cold boiled water, shake well and take orally. Take once every 12 hours on an empty stomach. 1) Adults: 0.5~0.75g for the first dose, 0.25~0.5g for every 12 hours, and the dose can be doubled for those with severe infection. 2) Children: 30mg/kg body weight for the first dose, 15mg/kg body weight for every 12 hours.

The incidence of adverse reactions of this product is low. A small number of patients may experience abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin flushing, eosinophilia, and fever. A very small number of patients may experience reversible hearing loss, pseudomembranous colitis, and liver damage. Long-term and repeated use of this product can lead to overgrowth of non-sensitive bacteria (Clostridium difficile) and mold (Candida albicans).

Patients who are allergic to this product or other macrolide drugs are contraindicated.

1. This product can increase the serum drug concentration of theophylline. When the two drugs are used together, theophylline should be used in reduced doses and the toxicity of theophylline should be monitored. 2. This product can increase the absorption and serum drug concentration of digoxin. 3. This product can increase the serum drug concentration and renal toxicity of cyclosporine A. 4. This product enhances the effect of coumarin anticoagulants. 5. This product has an antagonistic effect with lincomycin and clindamycin.
