Function and Efficacy
This product is a central antitussive drug that can inhibit the medulla oblongata cough center to produce an antitussive effect. Its antitussive effect is equal to or slightly stronger than codeine. The general therapeutic dose does not inhibit breathing, and long-term use is not addictive or uncomfortable.
Ingredients
This product contains 15 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide per 10 ml. Excipients are sucrose, sodium benzoate, citric acid, and tartrazine. Chemical name: 3-methoxy-17-methyl-9α,13α,14αmorphinan hydrobromide hydrate Molecular weight: C18H25N0·HBr·H20
Appearance
This product is light yellow clear liquid.
Indication
Used for dry cough, including cough caused by upper respiratory tract infections (such as colds and pharyngitis), bronchitis, etc.
Usage and Dosage
Oral. 1. Children over 12 years old and adults: 10-20 ml (2-4 bottle caps) at a time, 3-4 times a day. The bottle cap can be used as a measuring cup, and each cap is 5 ml to the mark. 2. The dosage for children under 12 years old is as follows: 1-3 years old, 10-15 kg, 3 ml/time; 4-6 years old, 16-21 kg, 4 ml/time; 7-9 years old, 22-27 kg, 5 ml/time; 10-12 years old, 28-32 kg, 6 ml/time; 3-4 times a day.
Adverse Reactions
Symptoms include dizziness, headache, drowsiness, irritability, belching, lack of appetite, constipation, nausea, skin allergies, etc., but they do not affect the efficacy. The above reactions will disappear on their own after stopping the drug. Overdose can cause unconsciousness, bronchospasm, and respiratory depression.
Precautions
1. Women who are within 3 months of pregnancy, those with a history of mental illness, and breastfeeding women are prohibited from using this product. 2. Patients who have stopped taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors for less than two weeks are prohibited from using this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women within three months of pregnancy and lactating women are prohibited. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.
Drug Interactions
1. Do not use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and antidepressants. 2. This product should not be used with ethanol and other central nervous system depressants because it can enhance the inhibitory effect on the central nervous system. 3.
