This product is a fast-acting, short-acting contraceptive. Its contraceptive mechanism is to significantly inhibit ovulation and prevent the implantation of fertilized eggs, and increase the viscosity of cervical mucus and the resistance to sperm penetration, thereby exerting a fast-acting contraceptive effect.

The optically active part of levonorgestrel is 1 times more active than norgestrel, so the dosage can be halved and the adverse reactions are relatively weakened. It is currently a widely used oral contraceptive.
