Nifuratel Capsules

Function and Efficacy

Pharmacological action Nifuratel is effective against bacteria, Trichomonas and Candida that cause female reproductive system infections. This product mainly inhibits the growth of bacteria by interfering with its enzyme system. It is difficult to pass through the placenta and has no teratogenic effect. Toxicological studies have shown that nifuratel has minimal toxicity in acute animal toxicology tests. The oral LD50 (lethal dose) of rabbits is 1500 times its therapeutic dose. No toxicity was found after rabbits were orally administered 450 mg/kg/day (equivalent to 20 times the therapeutic dose) for 47 days. In a 6-month long-term toxicity test, dogs took 10 times the therapeutic dose of humans orally every day without toxicity. Pregnant mice and rabbits took 100 mg/kg/day and 200 mg/kg/day orally, respectively, and no teratogenic or fertility changes occurred. No toxicity was observed after subcutaneous injection of 3000 times the therapeutic dose of this product.
