Compound Clotrimazole Cream

Clotrimazole is an azole antifungal drug. It can inhibit the process of Candida albicans transforming from spores to invasive hyphae. Clotrimazole has a broad-spectrum antifungal activity, and has good antibacterial effects on Epidermophyton, Trichophyton, Aspergillus, Chromatid fungi, Cryptococcus and Candida. It also has certain antibacterial activity against Sporothrix schenckii, Blastomyces dermatitidis, Coccidioides and Histoplasma. Clotrimazole has poor effects on Aspergillus, some dematiaceae, Mucor and other genus. This product inhibits the biosynthesis of fungal ergosterol and other sterols by interfering with the activity of cytochrome P-450, damaging the fungal cell membrane and changing its permeability, resulting in the leakage of important intracellular substances; it can inhibit the biosynthesis of fungal triglycerides and phospholipids; it can also inhibit the activity of oxidases and peroxidases, causing the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide in cells, leading to cell submicrostructure degeneration and cell necrosis.

This product is a white or slightly yellowish ointment with an emulsion base.

It is suitable for the treatment of cutaneous candidiasis and vulvovaginitis caused by Candida albicans, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum and Microsporum canis, and tinea versicolor caused by Malassezia furfur. It can also be used to treat paronychia, tinea barbae and tinea capitis.

1. For skin infection, apply to the affected area 2-3 times a day. 2. For vaginitis, apply vaginally, 0.15g at a time, once every night for 7 consecutive days.

Rashes, blisters, burning sensations, itching, redness, or other signs of skin irritation may occasionally occur after external use on the skin.

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to any component of this product.

Precautions for children: No special effects have been found for external use of this product in children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. No adverse effects on the fetus were found when clotrimazole was given vaginally in the last 3 months of pregnancy. However, in studies on mice and rats, oral administration of clotrimazole at 50-120 mg/kg body weight showed embryotoxicity, but no teratogenic effect was found. Therefore, pregnant women should use it with caution. 2. When this product is used externally by lactating women, clotrimazole can be secreted into breast milk, so lactating women should stop breastfeeding when using this product. Precautions for the elderly: No special effects have been found for external use of this product in elderly patients.
