Promestriene vaginal capsules

This product is a chemically synthesized steroidal gynecological drug. Its main ingredient, promestriene, produces local estrogen effects on the mucosa at the bottom of the female reproductive tract, thereby restoring its nutritional function.

Chemical name: 17β-methoxy-3-propoxyestra-1,3,5(10)-triene. Molecular weight: C22H32O2

This product is a light yellow oval soft capsule, the contents of which are colorless transparent or translucent oily liquid.

Vaginal atrophy caused by estrogen deficiency; delayed healing and scabbing of the cervical, vaginal and vulvar mucosal damage caused by childbirth, local surgery or physical therapy (such as laser, freezing or burning).

Usually one capsule is taken daily, and a course of treatment is 20 days. Place the moistened capsule deep into the vagina. Although it looks oily, the capsule contains a washable emulsifier. Unless the doctor specifically advises, vaginal douching is generally not necessary every day. Washing once with water and soap is sufficient. In special cases, such as when there is a lot of secretion before treatment, menstrual paper can be used. If the cause persists (such as menopause, oophorectomy, use of estrogen-progestin contraception), or the influencing factors persist (such as radiotherapy). Continued treatment is necessary.

Like all estrogen drugs, this product may cause adverse reactions in some patients, including irritation, itching, and allergic reactions in some patients.

Although no systemic effects occur during the use of this drug, as a precautionary measure for the use of any estrogen, it is not recommended to use this drug in patients with a history of estrogen-dependent cancer.

Precautions for children: There is no data on the use of this product in children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This drug is prohibited during pregnancy and is not recommended during lactation. Precautions for the elderly: Same as for adults, no special precautions.
