Finasteride Tablets

(1) Pharmacological action: This product belongs to the 4-nitrogen steroid hormone compound and is a specific type II 5α-reductase competitive inhibitor. It inhibits the conversion of peripheral testosterone into dihydrotestosterone and reduces the level of dihydrotestosterone in the blood, prostate, skin and other tissues. The growth, development and benign hyperplasia of the prostate depend on dihydrotestosterone. Finasteride inhibits prostate hyperplasia and improves the clinical symptoms related to benign prostatic hyperplasia by reducing the level of dihydrotestosterone in the blood and prostate tissue. (2) Toxicological study: Animal experiments have shown that finasteride has no carcinogenic, teratogenic or mutagenic effects.

Each tablet contains 5 mg of finasteride.

This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears white after removing the film coating.

This product is suitable for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and can shrink the enlarged prostate; improve urine flow and the comprehensive complications caused by prostatic hyperplasia; reduce the risk of acute urinary retention and the risk of prostatectomy.

This product is well absorbed orally. The recommended dose is 5 mg (1 tablet) once a day, either on an empty stomach or with food.

Finasteride is well tolerated, and adverse reactions are mild and short-lived. The incidence of adverse reactions is less than 1%, and the main reactions include sexual function, skin irritation, itching, allergies, etc.

This product is not suitable for women and children and is contraindicated for use by those who are allergic to it.

(1) No drugs that interact with this product have been found clinically. For example, propranolol, digoxin, glibenclamide, warfarin, theophylline and antipyrine, etc., have not been found to interact with this product. (2) Drugs that have no adverse interactions with this product clinically. For example, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, acetaminophen, acetylsalicylic acid, α-blockers, β-blockers, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, quinolones, etc. (3) No toxic side effects or adverse reactions were observed after a single dose of 400 mg of finasteride and a daily dose of 80 mg for three months. There is currently no treatment for overdose.
