1. Pharmacology This product has the effects of relieving asthma, relieving cough, expectorant, sedative, antispasmodic, and anticonvulsant. Relieving asthma: It can counteract histamine and acetylcholine and relieve bronchospasm; relieving cough: It has a strong inhibitory effect on the cough center; expectorant: It causes increased secretion, thins thick sputum, reduces sputum viscosity, and is easy to cough out; sedative: It has a sedative effect close to diazepam, significantly reduces spontaneous activity without inhibitory effect; antispasmodic: It is similar to aminophylline and has the effect of relaxing bronchial smooth muscle. Anticonvulsant: It can increase the electrical stimulation threshold of the cerebral cortex, inhibit the synaptic conduction of electrical stimulation and the spread of epileptic electricity, thereby preventing or alleviating epileptic seizures. 2. Toxicology The LD50 of oral and intraperitoneal injection of α-asarone in mice is (680.5±41.6) mg/kg and (388.7±28.5) mg/kg, respectively. The minimum lethal dose (MLD) of intravenous injection in rabbits is (66.3±10.0) mg/kg.

The main ingredient of this product is α-asarone, and its chemical name is: 2,4,5-trimethoxy-1-propenylbenzene.

This product is a colorless to light yellow clear liquid with a slightly milky white fluorescence.

This product is mainly used for pneumonia, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with acute lung inflammation, etc.

Intravenous injection. 1. Intravenous push: 16-24 mg once, diluted in 40 ml of 20% glucose injection, slowly intravenously push, 2-3 times a day. The dosage for children is reduced as appropriate. 2. Intravenous drip: 16-24 mg once for adults, 0.5 mg/kg once for children, diluted with 5% or 10% glucose injection to a 0.01%-0.02% solution, intravenously drip, 2 times a day.

A small number of patients experience palpitations and chest tightness after injection of this drug. The injection speed should be slowed down or the dose should be reduced appropriately; shock is rare.
