Lentinan injection

Function and Efficacy

Pharmacological effects Lentinan is an anti-tumor auxiliary drug with immunomodulatory effects. It can promote the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes and increase the activity of NK cells. Animal experiments show that this product has a certain inhibitory effect on animal tumors (such as S-180 sarcoma and EC solid tumors). Toxicological studies Repeated dosing toxicity: Reticuloendothelial cell swelling and proliferation can be seen in rats, dogs and monkeys in repeated dosing tests. In rats (≥0.03 mg/kg, 1 month; ≥0.01 mg/kg, 3 months) and monkeys (≥2 mg/kg, 6 months), arteritis of small and medium arteries can be seen. In the ≥2 mg/kg group, some dogs and monkeys have gastrointestinal or bladder bleeding, rash and ulcers. The above lesions, except for arteritis in rats, are only seen in high-dose groups, and there is a recovery trend after drug withdrawal. Monkeys and dogs injected with large doses of this product can produce foam cells and vasculitis. The foam reaction indicates that excessive polysaccharides enter the tissue. Especially the reticuloendothelial system. Genetic toxicity: The mutagenicity test result of this product is negative. Reproductive toxicity: Female rats were given 1.0 mg/kg of Lentinan before pregnancy, and no abnormalities were observed. Male rats were given 0.01 mg/kg and no fertilization abnormalities were observed, but mild to moderate fertilization abnormalities were observed in the 0.1 and 1.0 mg/kg groups. In the experiments of administration during the organogenesis period of rats and rabbits, the maximum doses were 5.0 mg/kg and 1.0 mg/kg, respectively, and no teratogenic effects were observed, but the weight of the offspring was slightly lower after weaning. No abnormalities were observed when rats were given 5.0 mg/kg of Lentinan during the perinatal and lactation periods.
