Clindamycin phosphate suppository
Function and Efficacy
Bacterial vaginosis is associated with microbial infections such as Bacteroides, Gardnerella vaginalis, Mycoplasma hominis, and Streptococcus. In vitro tests have shown that clindamycin can effectively antagonize these microorganisms. Although this product is inactive in vitro, anaerobic bacteria and Gardnerella in the vagina can produce a large amount of phosphatase, which hydrolyzes clindamycin phosphate into clindamycin, and produces an effect. Clindamycin acts on the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, inhibiting the elongation of the peptide chain and inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial proteins, thereby eliminating the A protein and the villi-like coat on the surface of the bacteria, making it easy to be phagocytosed and killed. Animal experiments have shown that this product has no carcinogenic and mutagenic effects and does not affect the mating and fertility of animals.

Adverse Reactions
Domestic clinical studies have shown that adverse reactions to clindamycin phosphate suppositories include candidal vaginitis, candidal infection, vulvar redness and swelling, skin itching, and urticaria. Laboratory tests also showed changes in hemoglobin, white blood cells, neutrophils, platelets, and liver and kidney function, but none of them had clinical significance. Foreign clinical studies on clindamycin phosphate suppositories reported that 589 patients used clindamycin phosphate suppositories, with an adverse reaction rate of 10.5%, of which 3 cases (0.5%) discontinued treatment. Adverse reactions include: Urogenital system: functional disorders (3.4%), vaginal pain (1.9%), and candidal vaginitis (1.5%). Systemic effects: fungal infection (1.0%). Adverse reactions with an incidence of 1%: Urogenital system: menstrual disorders, dysuria
