Benzalkonium bromide solution

This product is a cationic surfactant broad-spectrum bactericide that can change the permeability of bacterial cytoplasmic membranes, causing bacterial cytoplasmic substances to extravasate, hindering their metabolism and killing them. It has a strong effect on Gram-positive bacteria, but is ineffective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, acid-fast bacilli and bacterial spores. It can quickly bind to proteins, and its effect is significantly reduced in the presence of blood, cotton, cellulose and organic matter. It is non-irritating to the skin at concentrations below 0.1%.

This product is a mixture of dimethylbenzyl ammonium bromide.

This product is a colorless or light yellow clear liquid with a fragrant aroma and extremely bitter taste. Strong shaking will produce a lot of foam. It may become turbid or precipitate when exposed to low temperatures.

Used for skin disinfection, mucous membrane and wound disinfection, and surgical instrument disinfection before surgery.

Use 0.01% solution to disinfect wounds, 0.1% solution to disinfect skin and mucous membranes, and soak hands in 0.05%-0.1% solution for 5 minutes before surgery; boil surgical instruments with 0.1% solution for 15 minutes and then soak for 30 minutes; use solutions below 0.005% for bladder and urethra lavage; and use 0.0025% solution as bladder retention solution.

It has been reported to cause allergic conjunctivitis, visual impairment, contact dermatitis, and there have also been reports that 3% solution enema caused nausea, cold sweats and death a few minutes after use. There have also been cases of death when used as a vaginal wash, but the mortality rate has been significantly reduced.

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.

This product is incompatible with soap and other cationic surfactants, citrates, iodides, nitrates, permanganates, salicylates, silver salts, tartrates, and alkaloids. It is also incompatible with aluminum, sodium fluorescein, hydrogen peroxide, kaolin, aqueous lanolin, and some sulfonamides.

Keep away from light and store in a sealed container.
