This product is white tablets.
Indication
Used for acute tonsillitis, acute pharyngitis, sinusitis; pneumonia, mycoplasma infection, whooping cough, etc.
Usage and Dosage
Pour this product into a cup, add appropriate amount of cold boiled water, shake well and take orally. Adults take 1.6g a day, divided into 2 to 4 times. Legionnaires' disease patients, 0.4 to 1.0g once, 4 times a day, and the daily dose for adults should generally not exceed 4g. To prevent streptococcal infection, take 0.4g once, twice a day. Chlamydia or Ureaplasma urealyticum infection, take 0.8g once, once every 8 hours, for 7 days; or 0.4g once, once every 6 hours, for 14 days. Children take 7.5 to 12.5mg/kg once, 4 times a day; or 15 to 25mg/kg once, 2 times a day; for severe infections, the daily dose can be doubled and taken in 4 times. Children with pertussis, take 10 to 12.5mg/kg once, 4 times a day, for a course of 14 days. Or follow the doctor's advice.
Adverse Reactions
1. Hepatotoxic reactions are more common after taking this product than after taking other erythromycin preparations. After taking the medicine for several days or 1 to 2 weeks, patients may experience fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, fever, etc. Jaundice may sometimes occur, and liver function tests show cholestasis, which can often be recovered after stopping the drug. 2. Gastrointestinal reactions include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, pain in the mouth and tongue, decreased appetite, etc., and the incidence is related to the dosage. 3. When used in large doses (≥4g/day), especially in patients with liver and kidney diseases or elderly patients, it may cause hearing loss, which is mainly related to the high blood drug concentration (12mg/L), and most of them can be recovered after stopping the drug. 4. Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not clear yet. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. Pregnant women are prohibited from using this product because of the increased possibility of hepatotoxic reactions. 2. Since a considerable amount of this product enters breast milk, lactating women should use it with caution or stop breastfeeding. Precautions for the elderly: There is still a lack of systematic research data on the elderly population. If there is no change in pharmacokinetics in the elderly, refer to the adult dosage and use it according to the doctor's advice.
Drug Interactions
1. This product can inhibit the metabolism of anti-epileptic drugs such as carbamazepine and valproic acid, resulting in increased blood concentrations and toxic reactions. Combination with alfentanil can inhibit the metabolism of the latter and prolong its duration of action. Combination with antihistamines such as astemizole or terfenadine can increase cardiac toxicity, and combination with cyclosporine can increase the latter's blood concentration and produce nephrotoxicity. 2. This product has antagonistic effects with chloramphenicol and lincosamides, and it is not recommended to use them at the same time. 3. This product is an antibacterial agent and can interfere with the bactericidal efficacy of penicillin. Therefore, when rapid bactericidal effects are required, such as in the treatment of meningitis, the two should not be used at the same time. 4.
