The main ingredient of this product is isotretinoin, also known as 13-cis retinoic acid. Its chemical name is: 3,7-dimethyl-9-{2,6,6-trimethyl-1-cyclohexene-1-yl}2-cis-4-trans-6-trans-8-trans-nonatetraenoic acid. Its structural formula is: molecular formula C20H28O2, molecular weight 300.44.

When administered systemically, isotretinoin can cause malformations in human embryos, but results of reproductive experiments on rats showed that topical application of isotretinoin gel at a dose that is 60 times that of humans did not harm the mouse embryo. Therefore, it is recommended not to use this drug during pregnancy. 2. The percutaneous absorption of isotretinoin in this gel is negligible, and it is not clear whether isotretinoin can be secreted into breast milk, so do not use this drug during lactation. Precautions for the elderly: It is contraindicated for those with impaired liver and kidney function.
