Roxithromycin Tablets

Function and Efficacy

This product is a semi-synthetic 14-membered macrolide antibiotic. Its antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial effect are basically similar to those of erythromycin. Its effect on Gram-positive bacteria is slightly worse than that of erythromycin. Its effect on Legionella pneumophila is stronger than that of erythromycin. Its antimicrobial effect on Chlamydia pneumoniae and Mycoplasma pneumoniae is similar to or slightly stronger than that of erythromycin. This product can penetrate the bacterial cell membrane and reversibly bind to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome near the donor (P site), blocking the binding of transfer RNA (t-RNA) to the P site. It also blocks the transfer of the polypeptide chain from the acceptor site (A site) to the P site, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.

Ingredients

The main ingredient of this product is roxithromycin. Chemical name: 9-{O-[(2-methoxyethoxy)-methyl]oxime}erythromycin.
