Description
Carboxymethyl cellulose is a product of the carboxyl group of cellulose. According to its molecular weight or degree of substitution, it can be completely dissolved or insoluble polymer, the latter can be used as a weak acid cation exchanger, to separate the neutral or alkaline protein, etc.. Carboxymethyl cellulose can form high viscosity gel and solution, adhesion, thickening, emulsifying, dispersing, flow forming, water retention, protective colloid, film forming, acid and salt tolerance, suspension characteristics, physiological and harmless, so it is widely used in food, medicine, daily chemical, petroleum, papermaking, in the production of textile, construction and other fields.
