  • Description
Chemical properties: white to light red leaf-like crystals
Uses: The amino group of naphthylamine interacts with nitrous acid to form a diazonium salt, which can be converted into a variety of naphthalene derivatives. It is used in the manufacture of dyes and organic synthesis. It is also used as an organic analysis reagent and fluorescent indicator.
Production method: Since 2-nitronaphthalene cannot be obtained by nitration of naphthalene, the production method is different from 1-naphthylamine. 2-Naphthylamine is derived from 2-naphthol by pressurized aminolysis.
    Category: Toxic
    Toxicity classification: poisoning
    Acute toxicity: Oral-rat LD50: 727 mg/kg; abdominal cavity-mouse LD50: 200 mg/kg
Flammability hazard characteristics: flammable in open flames; emits toxic nitrogen oxide gas when heated
Storage and transportation characteristics: warehouse ventilated at low temperature and dry; stored extinguishing agent separately from acids, oxidants and food additives: foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder, sand
