Product Description
Tazolamide phosphate is a new drug developed by CUBIST PHARMS. Tetrazolamide phosphate is the prodrug of tetrazolamine, which is converted to tetrazolamine by phosphatase after oral or intravenous administration. Tazolamide is a second generation oxazolanone antibiotic, which is a protein-synthesis inhibitor. Through binding to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosome, tazolamide inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial proteins and playing an antibacterial role will not easily generate cross-resistance with other antibiotics. Compared with linezolid, it has a longer half-life.
Clinical studies have shown that compared with linezolid, tazolamide not only has better clinical efficacy, but also shortens the treatment period by 40%.
In addition, the use of tazolamide in hospital-acquired/ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (HABP /VABP) has entered clinical phase II.
