Osthole

Osthole is a substance extracted from the fruit of the umbelliaceae annual herb Osthole. It is yellow-green to white crystalline powder, insoluble in water and cold petroleum ether, soluble in acetone, methanol, ethanol, chloroform, trichloromethane and ethyl acetate, soluble in boiling petroleum ether. It has antispasmodic, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, immune function enhancement and broad-spectrum antibacterial effect. Clinically mainly used in the treatment of impotence, scrotal itching, uterine cold infertility, rheumatism pain, scabies wet sore, trichomonad vaginitis. Common cnidium fruit, also can be used as insecticides, fungicides, in open field with tag function is given priority to, stomach toxicity effect is complementary, liquid through surface absorption into the insect body, effects on insect pests of the nervous system, lead to muscle contraction non-functional pest, final failure and death, for a variety of pests such as caterpillar, tea looper, cotton bollworm, beet armyworm and various aphids has better effect on tag.
