The compound has also been shown to inhibit cancer cells in vitro by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting cell proliferation. Glibenclamide, the active form of alpha-Glucosyl Hesperidin, is an orally active hypoglycemic agent used to treat diabetes mellitus type 2 and gestational diabetes. It works by stimulating insulin release from beta cells in the pancreas and promoting insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.
