It has a role as an EC 2.4.2.30 (NAD(+) ADP-ribosyltransferase) inhibitor, an antineoplastic agent, an apoptosis inducer, an angiogenesis inhibitor, an antiatherosclerotic agent, a cardioprotective agent, an anti-inflammatory agent and a neuroprotective agent.
