Research progress in direct epoxidation of allyl chloride to epichlorohydrin. Epichlorohydrin is an important organic chemical raw material and intermediate. At present, most of its industrial production still uses the classic chlorohydrin method. From the multi-step synthesis of chloropropene, this method has many disadvantages, especially serious environmental pollution, and needs to be improved. Appearance:

Allyl chloride appears as a clear colorless liquid with an unpleasant pungent odor. Flash point -20°F. Boiling point 113°F. Less dense than water (7.8 lb / gal) and insoluble in water. Hence floats on water. Vapor irritates skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Vapors are heavier than air.
