    Product Overview

Cerium Hydroxide, also known as Cerium(IV) Hydroxide, is a high-activity inorganic rare earth hydroxide with the chemical formula Ce(OH)₄ and CAS number 15785-09-8. The product appears as light yellow or tan fine crystalline powder with excellent chemical reactivity and stable physical properties. It is insoluble in water but completely soluble in dilute inorganic acids, making it a fundamental and indispensable intermediate material in the rare earth deep processing industry.
Different from inert rare earth salts, Cerium Hydroxide features high surface activity and loose microscopic structure, which enables it to serve as an ideal precursor for synthesizing high-purity cerium oxide, cerium-based catalysts and other functional cerium compounds. We provide multiple purity grades including industrial grade and high-purity grades (3N, 4N, 4.5N) with controllable particle size and low impurity content. All products undergo strict batch testing and are equipped with complete COA, TDS and MSDS certification files, supporting long-term stable supply for global industrial production and laboratory research.

    Basic Physical & Chemical Properties

Cerium Hydroxide possesses superior chemical activity and structural stability under normal temperature and pressure conditions. It does not dissolve in water and neutral solutions, and can rapidly react with sulfuric acid, nitric acid and hydrochloric acid to form corresponding cerium salt solutions. The material has good thermal stability and will gradually dehydrate and transform into cerium dioxide after high-temperature calcination, without introducing extra impurity components.
Our premium Cerium Hydroxide is characterized by uniform particle distribution, low moisture content and excellent dispersibility. Strict control of rare earth impurities and heavy metal residues ensures consistent batch stability, effectively improving the conversion rate and finished product quality in downstream material synthesis and industrial applications.

    Core Industrial Applications

Cerium Hydroxide is a versatile functional rare earth raw material, widely applied in traditional industries and high-tech new material fields:
    • Catalyst Precursor Manufacturing: As the core raw material for preparing cerium-based composite catalysts, it is widely used in automotive exhaust purification, industrial waste gas treatment, petrochemical catalytic reactions and organic synthesis. Its high activity significantly improves catalytic efficiency and service life of finished catalysts.
    • Glass Industry Processing: Serves as an efficient glass decolorizer and clarifying agent. It can effectively eliminate green tint caused by iron impurities in glass, improve glass transparency and brightness, and enhance the overall quality of optical glass and daily glass products.
    • Polishing Material Raw Material: An essential precursor for producing high-precision cerium oxide polishing powder. It is widely used for surface polishing of optical lenses, display glass, semiconductor wafers and precision electronic components, delivering smooth and flat polishing effects.
    • Ceramic & New Material Industry: Used as a functional additive for ceramics and glaze materials to improve ceramic compactness, high-temperature resistance and surface finish. It is also applied in the preparation of rare earth functional materials and new energy composite materials.
    • Metallurgical & Plastic Industry: Used as a rare earth additive for alloy smelting to enhance alloy strength and corrosion resistance; it also acts as a thermal stabilizer for PVC and other plastic products to extend material service life.
    • Laboratory & Fine Chemical Synthesis: Applied in the preparation of various high-purity cerium salts and rare earth chemical reagents, supporting precision chemical research and fine chemical customization.

    Packaging, Storage & Shipping

We adopt professional moisture-proof and sealed packaging for Cerium Hydroxide to prevent moisture absorption and agglomeration. Standard packaging adopts inner double PE moisture-proof bags and outer PP woven bags or fiber drums, with conventional specifications of 25kg/bag or 25kg/drum. Customized jumbo bags for bulk orders and small sealed sample packages for experimental testing are available to meet diverse customer demands.
For daily storage, Cerium Hydroxide should be stored in a cool, dry, ventilated and dust-free warehouse environment. Keep the packaging tightly sealed to avoid long-term exposure to humid air and prevent performance attenuation caused by moisture absorption. It should be stored separately from strong acids and corrosive chemicals. The valid shelf life is 24 months under standard sealed storage conditions.
In terms of transportation, Cerium Hydroxide belongs to non-dangerous general chemicals, complying with international general chemical transportation standards. It supports safe global transportation and provides complete customs clearance documents for overseas customers.

    Our Product Advantages

As a professional manufacturer specializing in rare earth chemical materials, we provide high-stability and high-purity Cerium Hydroxide products. We support personalized customization of product purity, particle size and impurity indicators to meet different application scenarios such as industrial mass production, high-end material manufacturing and scientific research experiments. With complete production lines, strict quality control system and sufficient inventory, we provide stable supply and one-stop technical services for global customers, winning long-term recognition from overseas markets.
