Dimethyldiethoxysilane is a monomeric alkoxy silane with two ethyl groups. It is well-known as the equivalent of ShinEtsu KBE-22. 
Diethoxydimethylsilane (DMDES) can be used to modify epoxy resins as well as the surface of pure silica and Pd/SiO2 hydrogen sensors. It can also be used as a precursor for the synthesis of polydimethylsiloxanes to form anti-corrosion coating composites with waterborne polyurethanes. Used as a chemical reagent and raw material for the synthesis of polymer organosilicon compounds Chemicalbook. Used as structure control agent in the preparation of silicone rubber, chain extender in the synthesis of silicone products and raw material for the synthesis of silicone oil. It is an important raw material for the production of silicone resin, phenylmethyl silicone oil and waterproofing agent.
