Product Description:

Acetaminophen/Paracetamol, known chemically as N-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)acetamide and marketed as acetaminophen, is a member of the class of antipyretics and analgesics. It was first synthesized by Morse in 1878 and was first used clinically by VonMering in 1893. It became an over-the-counter drug in the United States in 1955, and our country began producing it in the late 1950s. Its appearance is white crystal or crystalline powder, melting point 168 ~ 172ºC, odorless, slightly bitter taste, easy to dissolve in hot water or ethanol, almost insoluble in cold water. It is stable below 45ºC, but if it is exposed to humid air, it will hydrolyze pairwise aminophenol, and then undergo further oxidation. The color gradually turns pink, brown, and finally black, so it should be kept in a cold and dry place.

Product Function:

It is an antipyretic and analgesic drug. By inhibiting cyclooxygenase, it selectively inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin in the thermoregulatory center of hypothalamus, resulting in peripheral vascular dilation and sweating to achieve antipyretic effect. Its antipyretic effect intensity is similar to aspirin. It plays an analgesic role by inhibiting the synthesis and release of prostaglandin and so on, raising the pain threshold. It is a peripheral analgesic drug with weaker effect than aspirin and only effective for mild and moderate pain. This product has no obvious anti-inflammatory effect.
