Polymyxin B (polymyxin B) is a peptide antibiotic against Gram-negative bacilli, which can change the membrane structure and leak small molecules to inhibit the growth of Gram-negative bacteria. Chemicalbook has bactericidal action against Escherichia coli. Binding to the lipid A moiety of bacterial lipopolysaccharides. Induces small pores in the outer cell membrane. Mode of action: binds and interferes with the permeability of the plasma membrane. Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram negative bacteria.
