Nature:
- Appearance: Colorless to light yellow liquid
- Solubility: soluble in common organic solvents, such as ethers, ketones, alcohols, etc

Purpose:
-tert-butyldimethylchlorosilane is commonly used as a reagent and catalyst in organic synthesis. It can be used to synthesize a variety of silicone compounds, such as silicone rubber, silicone oil, silicone grease and so on.
- tert-butyldimethylchlorosilane can also be used as an additive in coatings, adhesives, sealants, etc., to improve the weather resistance and adhesion of products.

Preparation:
-tert-butyldimethylchlorosilane can be obtained by reacting methyl chlorosilane with tert-butyllithium. First, methyl chlorosilane is dropped into the cooled ether, and then this solution is slowly added to the ester solution of tert-butyllithium, and the reaction produces tert-butyldimethyl chlorosilane.

Dry. Well closed. Separated from food and feedstuffs and strong oxidants. Store in an area without drain or sewer access.

DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Recycle to process, if possible. Consult your local regional authorities. You may be able to dissolve or mix material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber system. Observe all federal, state and local regulations when disposing of the substance.
