1.Tryptophan is an important nutrient. It can participate in the renewal of plasma protein in animals, and can promote the role of Iactochrome, but also contribute to the synthesis of niacin and heme, can significantly increase the antibodies in pregnant animals.
2. When the livestock lack of tryptophan, growth stagnation, weight loss, fat accumulation decreased, the testis of male animals contracted. Tryptophan can increase the animal globin content, thus enhancing disease resistance.
3. Among the commonly used feedstuff, it is the first, second, and third limiting amino acids of meat and bone powder, corn, and large soybean meal. In recent years, due to the heavy use of methi-onine and lysine in the compound feed, tryptophan became the major limiting amino acid in the feed.
4. Tryptophan, as an essential amino acid that cannot be synthesized in animals and has a number of physiological functions, has been recognized as one of the six feed grade amino acids by the China's Ministry of Agriculture, becoming the third largest feed added amino acid after lysine and methi-onine.

Tryptophan can reduce the ni-trogen emission of poultry manure and improve the utilization rate of crude protein, thus reducing the environmental pollution caused by intensive livestock and poultry breeding. Adding tryptophan can reduce the aggression of chicken, reduce pecking, anal phenomenon.
According to the relevant studies, adding a certain amount of tryptophan to the feed can improve the pig feed intake, promote its growth, slow down the stress, improve its immunity and improve the meat quality. Similarly, the tail biting phenomenon caused by weaning and dense rearing can also be solved by tryptophan supplementation.
