What is  Sodium Fusidate ?
Sodium fusidic acid, also known as sodium fusidic acid and sodium fusidic acid, is a kind of narrow spectrum antibiotic with steroid skeleton. It is a derivative of Fusidic acid. Its appearance is white crystal or crystalline powder, odorless, bitter, slightly wet, easily soluble in water,  slightly soluble in chloroform, and insoluble , ether and benzene. Developed by Danish Leo Pharmaceutical Company for the first time, the product is named Listin. This product has strong tissue permeability, is mainly metabolized in the liver, and is excreted by bile, almost not excreted through the kidney, and has low toxicity. It produces bactericidal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial protein, has good antibacterial effect on gram-positive bacteria, and has good drug resistance. At the same time, the strains resistant to antibiotics such as penicillin and methicillin were still sensitive to this product, and there was no cross-resistance between sodium fusidic acid and other antibacterial drugs used in clinic. This product is a non-cephalosporin antibiotic, so there is no need to do skin allergy test. At present, it has been widely used in clinical treatment of various infections caused by various sensitive bacteria, especially staphylococcus, such as osteomyelitis, sepsis, endocarditis, repeated infections of cystic fibrosis, bacterial endocarditis, pneumonia, meningitis, diphtheria, tuberculosis, skin and soft tissue infections. Surgical and traumatic infections. Intravenous administration is used for severe infections or infections with drug-resistant strains, and also for MRSA infections. However, because it is easy to produce drug resistance, it is often used as an auxiliary drug. Oral treatment of pseudomembranous enteritis caused by Clostridium difficile is effective.
