Gluconol-delta-lactone is also known as gluconol-delta-lactone, D-gluconol-delta-lactone. A lactone compound formed by the removal of one molecule of water from gluconic acid. White crystalline or crystalline powder. No smell or slight fragrance. It's sweet at first, then it's sour. But it doesn't taste like gluconic acid at all. Molecular weight 178.14. Melting point 153℃. Specific rotation +61.7°(c=1). Soluble in water, 59(20℃); Dissolve Chemicalbook in ethanol, 1g/100g(20℃); Insoluble in ether. The aqueous solution is a mixture of hydrolyzed gluconic acid, gluconic acid-delta-lactone and gluconic acid-gamma-lactone. The pH3.6 of the newly formulated 1% aqueous solution is pH2.5 after 2h. If 5% to 10% calcium stearate coating is used, it is stable even in products containing hygroscopic components. Rabbit intravenous injection LD507630mg/kg.
