    Applications:
    2-Acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic Acid Sodium Salt (AMPS-Na).It is a
    monomer with high reactivity and high hydrophilicity, and also a polymerizable
    surfactant with a product molecular weight of 229.23.
    The acrylamide group can promote polymerization reactions; the side methyl
    group and sodium methylsulfonate can effectively prevent amino hydrolysis and
    thermal degradation; the sulfonic group exhibits hydrophilicity and ionic
    characteristics at any pH value.
    Research results on the gel, particle size, surface charge density, and latex
    stability generated during the synthesis of emulsion show that the polymer has
    the characteristics of polyelectrolyte and forms an ionization layer on the
    surface of latex particles by adsorption, thereby increasing the stability of the
    latex.
    It can not only replace carboxylic acid monomers (such as acrylic acid,
    methacrylic acid, etc.), but also reduce the usage amount of other surfactants,
    making pure acrylic, vinyl acetate-acrylic, and styrene-acrylic emulsions
    resistant to divalent cations, with good hydrolysis resistance and thermal
    stability; products made from the emulsion have a smooth, flexible, and
    comfortable touch, and the scrub resistance of the colloid film is significantly
    improved.
    It can be used in industries such as industry, daily chemicals, and polymer
    synthesis, such as water treatment agents, mining, flocculants, oilfield
    chemicals, medical supplies, cosmetics, detergents, fabric adhesives and
    finishing agents, paper coating finishing agents, polymer emulsions, coatings
    and adhesives, super absorbent thickeners, leak-proof and sealing agents, etc.
    It can also be used as the third monomer for synthetic fibers.

     AMPS-Na has not been listed by the state as a substance harmful to the
    environment. This product is biodegradable.
    Health and Safety
     The product is non-irritating and will not pose a danger to the human
    body under general industrial conditions. Long-term and excessive
    intake should be avoided.
    Storage and Operation
     Store AMPS-Na in a cool and ventilated place with a storage temperature
    below 26°C. Seal the container when not in use.
     Wear protective equipment (such as goggles, gloves, etc.) during
    operation.
     Materials such as calcium plastic, enamel, and stainless steel are all
    suitable for the storage and processing of the product.
     Strong acids, strong bases, oxidants, and catalysts should be avoided.
    Polymerization inhibitors and high-purity oxygen have excellent
    polymerization inhibition effects.

    Sodium 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfonate has the following main uses :

    • Water treatment field: can be used as an important raw material of water treatment agent, used for the synthesis of water treatment agents with high efficiency flocculation, dispersion, scale inhibition and other properties. It can interact with impurities and suspended matter in water to coagulate and precipitate, achieve the purpose of purifying water quality, and is widely used in industrial wastewater treatment, drinking water purification and other scenarios.

    • Oilfield chemicals: In the field of oilfield exploitation, it is used to prepare temperature-resistant and salt-resistant flooding polymers. It can improve oil displacement efficiency, increase oil recovery, and maintain good stability and performance in high temperature and high salt reservoir environment.

    • In the field of emulsion polymerization: it is a aggregable surfactant used as a functional monomer in emulsion polymerization. It can participate in the polymerization reaction, so that the emulsion has low viscosity and high stability, but also improve the adhesion, thermal stability and antistatic property of the paint film, and improve the water resistance and scrub resistance of the latex paint.
