Titanium Dioxide (Special for Paint and Coating)

This is a rutile - type titanium dioxide pigment specially designed for coatings. It is produced by an advanced sulfuric acid process, with particle size control technology and a special coating technology. Its surface is treated with inorganic coating and special organic treatment, endowing it with stable chemical properties and excellent pigment performance.

It features good whiteness, high gloss, high hiding power, strong tinting strength, excellent weather resistance and anti - chalking properties. It also has good wettability and is easy to disperse. R909 can endow the coating film with vivid colors, enhance the mechanical strength and adhesion of the coating film, prevent cracks and peeling, block the penetration of ultraviolet rays or moisture, improve the anti - aging performance of the coating film, and extend the service life of the coating film.

    Product Applications

This is a titanium dioxide special for coatings, mainly applied in various fields such as architectural coatings, water - based coatings, industrial coatings, powder coatings, ship - specific paints, coil coatings, anticorrosive paints, antifouling paints, etc.

    Basic Parameters

    • CAS Number: 13463 - 67 - 7
    • EINECS Number: 236 - 675 - 5
    • Color Index: 77891, Pigment White 6
    • ISO591 - 1:2000: R2
    • ASTM D476 - 84: II
    • Product State: White powder
    • True Specific Gravity: 4.0 g/cm³
    • Apparent Density: 0.7 - 1.0 g/cm³
    • Surface Treatment: Inorganic coating of silicon and aluminum + Special organic treatment
    • Physicochemical property

      White powder.

Soft texture of odorless tasteless white powder, covering power and coloring power, melting point 1560 ~ 1580℃. Insoluble in water, dilute inorganic acid, organic solvent, oil, slightly soluble in alkali, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid. It turns yellow when heated and turns white when cooled. Rutile type (R type) has a density of 4.26g/cm3 and a refractive index of 2.72. R-type titanium dioxide has the characteristics of good weather resistance, water resistance and not easy to yellowing, but the whiteness is slightly poor. Anatase (Type A) has a density of 3.84g/cm3 and a refractive index of 2.55. Type A titanium dioxide has poor light resistance and is not resistant to weathering, but the whiteness is better. In recent years, it has been found that nano-scale ultra-fine titanium dioxide (usually 10 ~ 50 nm) has semiconductor properties, and has high stability, high transparency, high activity and high dispersion, no toxicity and color effect.

      13463-67-7 - Use

      • Used as a spectral analysis reagent, preparation of high purity titanium salt, pigment, polyethylene coloring agent, abrasive agent. It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry, capacitive media, high temperature resistant alloys, and high temperature resistant titanium sponge.

      • Used in the production of titanium dioxide, titanium sponge, titanium alloy, artificial rutile, titanium tetrachloride, titanium oxide sulfate, potassium fluotitanate, aluminum titanium chloride, etc. Titanium dioxide can be made of high-grade white paint, white rubber, synthetic fiber, coating, welding rod and rayon dimming agent, plastic and high-grade paper filler, but also used in telecommunications equipment, metallurgy, printing, printing and dyeing, enamel and other departments. Rutile is also the main mineral raw material for titanium extraction. Titanium and its alloys have high strength, low density, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, non-toxic and other excellent properties, and have special functions such as gas absorption, superconductivity, so it is widely used in aviation, chemical industry, light industry, navigation, medical, national defense and Marine resources development and other fields. More than 90% of titanium minerals in the world are used in the production of titanium dioxide white pigments, and this product is more and more widely used in paint, rubber, plastics, paper and other industries.
