Adenosylcobalamin is a similar compound of cyanocobalamin vitamin B12. It is an important coenzyme in the synthesis of nucleotides in cells. It participates in the methyl-conversion and folic acid metabolism in the body and promotes the reduction of methylfolic acid to tetrahydrofolic acid. It is also involved in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, which is very important for the Chemicalbook formation of lipoproteins in the nerve myelin sheath, and can make sulfhydrase dry active, thus participating in a wide range of protein and fat metabolism.
