Brief Introduction
Carbamazepine is a white or off-white crystalline powder and belongs to the dibenzodiazepine class of antiepileptic drugs. It has an antiepileptic effect similar to that of phenytoin sodium. It is most effective for psychomotor seizures and also for grand mal seizures, focal seizures and mixed seizures. Carbamazepine is superior to phenytoin sodium in treating peripheral neuralgia and can be used for trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia. It can also be used for the treatment of arrhythmia and diabetes insipidus and other conditions. Carbamazepine is insoluble in water and belongs to the BCSII class of drugs, featuring low solubility and high permeability.
Carbamazepine is a dibenzodiazepine type of antiepileptic drug and has an antiepileptic effect similar to that of phenytoin sodium. It is used as  treating grand mal epilepsy and psychomotor epilepsy, and can also be used to treat trigeminal neuralgia. It is also used as a sedative.
