Fragrance Grade Dipropylene Glycol DPG for Perfume Fragrance Cas 110-98-5

DPG is a mixture of three isomeric chemical compounds, 4-oxa-2,6-heptandiol, 2-(2-hydroxy-propoxy)-propan-1-ol, and 2-(2-hydroxy-1-methyl-ethoxy)-propan-1-ol. It is a colorless, nearly odorless liquid with a high boiling point and low toxicity.

DPG is a colorless transparent liquid at room temperature. It is easily soluble in hot water, ethanol and most organic solvents. It is easy to polymerize. Its vapor can form an explosive mixture with air. It is moderately toxic and has strong irritation to the skin and mucous membranes, but it is not carcinogenic.

DPG is the ideal solvent for many flavors, fragrances and cosmetic applications. This raw material has good water, oil and hydrocarbon solubility, and has a slight odor, little skin irritation and low toxicity. The isomer distribution is uniform and the quality is excellent.
Dipropylene glycol is mainly used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, shellac varnish, cellulose acetate, etc. It is also used in the preparation of unsaturated polyester resins, plasticizers, synthetic detergents.

First-aid Measures
Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and rinse the skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Eye contact: Lift the eyelids and rinse with running water or saline. Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Quickly leave the scene to a place with fresh air and keep the airway open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, immediately perform artificial respiration and seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Gastric lavage and seek medical attention.
