Main uses
Chemical production: Acetylene gas can be used to produce polyvinyl chloride, chloroprene rubber, calcium cyanamide, acetic acid, vinyl acetate ethanol and its derivatives, cyanide compounds, dicyandiamide and acetone, etc. Calcium carbide reacts with nitrogen to form lime nitrogen, which can be used as agricultural fertilizer.
