Fmoc-2-aminobutyric acid is a white crystalline solid with a distinctive odor. It is stable at room temperature and insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as methanol and dichloromethane.

Purpose

Fmoc-2-aminobutyric acid is a key intermediate for the preparation of enzalutamide. Enzalutamide (1) has the chemical name 4-[3-(4-cyano-3-trifluoromethyl phenyl)-5,5-dimethyl-4-oxo-2-thio-chemichalbook imidazolidin-1-yl]-2-fluoro-N-methylbenzamide. It is a novel structure of the second-generation non-steroidal androgen receptor (androgen receptor, AR) antagonist.
