Zirconium Basic Carbonate
Name: Zirconium Basic Carbonate
Molecular Formula: Zr(OH)2CO3.ZrO2
Property: White crystal powder, insoluble in water and alkali, easily dissolved in acid. Decompose in air at normal temperature, decomposed by heat, decomposing speed will quicken when the temperature is going up. At last, it will be decomposed and transformed into zirconium dioxide.
Application: Used in medicine, cosmetics, coating, paint, paper making, leather softener, catalyst, ceramics and as intermediates for other zirconium salts.
Storage: To be protected from moist when stored up, prevent getting in touch with general metals.

White solid powder, non-toxic, tasteless. Insoluble in water, alcohol, soluble in part of the alkali solution, soluble in organic acids, the formation of the corresponding organic acid zirconium, soluble in hydrochloric acid and other inorganic acids, while the release of carbon dioxide gas. Decomposed by heat, carbon dioxide is released, which can
be converted to zirconium dioxide by high temperature calcination.

Application

Used in coatings, paper making, leather, cosmetics, catalysts, structural ceramics, light storage materials, automobile exhaust catalyst, paint desiccant, preparation of zirconium series compounds.
